Healthy Banana Bread

Lately my bananas have been getting overripe and mushy before I get a chance to eat them. But nothing turns the frown upside down with some homemade banana bread! I’ve been toying around with this recipe and it’s completely free from refined sugars (unless you add in chocolate chips). I love to use whole wheat flour because the taste is barely noticeable, because you all taste all the bananas. If you aren’t the biggest fan of whole wheat you can totally use white flour or a mix of both. Enjoy turning your mushy bananas into delicious banana bread!

3 ripe bananas
¼ cup almond milk
⅓ cup honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 ½ cups all purpose/whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp cinnamon
Pinch of salt
½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

1. Preheat the oven to 350℉.
2. Mash bananas.
3. Mix in milk, honey, and vanilla. Then add eggs.
4. In a separate bowl mix together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
5. Add the dry ingredients into wet, stirring until completely mixed.
6. Add in chocolate chips if desired.
7. Pour into a greased pan and bake for 45-55 minutes.

And viola!

  1. This banana bread sounds (and looks) so good!! I love how you took a traditionally sugary recipe and made it a little bit healthier. I also enjoyed your introduction, and how you tied it into the question at the end.
